I've got a problem! Please help?

I'm turning 17 and am pretty hairy (bodily) for a kid my age, I think, and I was wondering if it was not a y thing, for men to be hairy...i have a girlfriend who says she likes it a lot..but do most girls not like it. also, because of it, i am discouraged about being a cop, in my mind, cops look like hairless, buff, body-builder types who'd poke fun, as juvenille as that sounds........HELP ANYONE!!
