You will probably find that the apple will best suit your needs, but if you have been accepted into the college you must ask them what software they will be requiring you to use. If you buy a great computer that is different from their requirements, you risk hurting your education. You can surf on a mac. If you do not know how to design and maintain an e commerce site, then you might have to pay someone to design your site anyway - the PC is probably better for maintaining the store, but if money doesn't factor into the equation, then buy both :)
